Courtship? What is that?

Where to begin.. as a response to this article.

Our generation, is.. exactly how they describe it. It’s not that we don’t know what courtship is, it is that it isn’t the norm anymore. It comes off as, frankly, trying too hard.

The norm is to be non-chalant and have a carefree perspective on absolutely everything in life, including our love life.

I couldn’t answer why it is the way it is now. My guess would be technology and the easier ways to get what you want. The minimal amount of effort is put into having relationships with other people.

This is where the problem begins. Minimal effort and receiving the same benefits of a regular relationship. How does that make any sense? It doesn’t. But it’s what we do best.

I wish I could say that I’m not one of those people who has given into the norm, but I’m not. “Courtship” is a completely different ball game than ever before. I don’t know if giving into the new way will work or not. But who really knows, right?

That’s how the game has always been played. Even when old fashioned courtship existed, you don’t know how things will end.
